Christmas In Review

My Christmas holidays went by in a blur of chillin' with a small handful of friends and family then getting wrapped up warm and watching Christmas specials as it rained cats and dogs. It was slow, quite and rather mellow. I loved it all the same though as i got to spend time with those i dont see enough, laugh and with them and remind them that i love them.

Its interesting how we grow different as time passes...

Peace. Love. Revelation.

Musing :: NOTD : Color Club Special Effects

Hope everyone had a happy Christmas and if you have it, boxing day holiday. Mine was quiet and full of rainy storming weather; it was wonderful.

The eve was spent loving on some of my favorite people and just generally trying to remain happy, healthy and thankful for my blessings.

I really like this polish even though its a plain look but time for everything under the sun i suppose :) It is definitely one of my favorite colour club buys! Not matte it has a beautiful festive shine to it and has a nice dark tone. I hope you felt good and loved these past holidays ♥

 Peace. Love. Happy Holidays ♥

Musing :: NOTD : Peppermint Candy Cane

Post finals time on my hands so i got some seasonal nail action going on. Ah i 've so much to do...so much i've neglected while focusing on grades. You think you allow yourself some time to focus on non school achievements and then the semester ends and you realise that no matter how many tiny breaks you took, there is still so much to deal with and catch upon...

Ah well, one day at a time of waking up and realizing i don't have an assignment to draft or notes to read...

I'm impatient to get my time back to focusing on me relaxing and regaining my centre of soul gravity, so i've already started planning to get the work out of the way. Room cleaning has begun and planning out the rest of the vacation likewise :)

You know what that means right?

Peace. Love. Beach Bump It!

My Plush Palette :: Mid Day Munchies

  •  One Scoop Chocolate
  • One Scoop Creme Brulee
  • One Scoop Oh Yeeeeh!

Ah, sometimes it is so good to be alone!

(The table tops at this Cafe are made out of floor tile)

Hey everyone.

So my computer is down for the count. I'm talking by a new one out with the old down for the count.

I can't pretend i can worry about it now. It's finals week and i wont get a new PC till next year.

This Plush Palette is from a day in the week when i forced myself to leave the comfort of home in pursuit of a better place to study.

Who says you can't have ice cream while being a seriously serious studious studying student type? (Say that ten times fast) I'll have to see how i by pass though. I can't tell you how much i miss blogging.

I've been so inspired lately...

I'll share more on that with you another yime though.

What's been inspiring you in the face of adversity lately?

Peace. Love. Wish me luck on exams?

MAC Lipstick Wishlist | List

I wasn't always a lipstick person. I used to swear by gloss and gloss alone, perhaps till sometime earlier this year. Then, somehow i discovered MAC lipsticks though a female friend who is a make up artist. It was so interesting and wonderful to learn about this unfamiliar ground from someone first hand. I immediately started figuring out how i could own some of these bad boys. Bellow is a list of said shades i hope to own:

~
  • St Germain
  • Ruby Woo
  • Pink Plaid
  • Snob
  • Girl About Town
  • Morange
  • Shy Girl
  • Candy Yum Yum (MAYBE for its rather daring to me)
  • Russian Red (MAYBE for its rather daring to me)
  • Creme Cup (i forgot to add it to the image :/ )
  • Girl Next Door (Archie collection)
  • Betty Bright (Archie collection)

I shall be sure to share with you once i own any of these shades. Just gotta get them into the country first...

Which lipstick brand or shade would you like to own post?

Peace. Love. Sexy Lipstick

Musing STREET Style : Complementry Colours

I've put together another street style segment this time showcase another local fashion designer. I love this little lady and happen to know her well from artistic circles we share (particularly our local writers association and spoken word poetry) She has a unique style and a passion for creating her own fashion pieces. I could take pictures of her overtime we meet! Though i think that would be pushing it and freak her out...so meanwhile, do enjoy this showcase :)

Meet: Sapphire - Fashion Designer. Poet

Outfit Details:  self made Paneled pencil skirt // self made Round edge square cut top // zebra pattern flats //zebra pattern hobo bag

Personal Style Motto: 'my personal style is quite eclectic. I believe in dressing to please myself because if i'm not happy or at least comfortable with my clothing i can't expect anyone else to be. okay so if i were to think up a personal style motto right now i would say: your clothing speaks the thoughts your tongue may never taste, dress comfortably, dress your mind, dress your inner you, always.'

--------------------

Since i discovered that orange and blue were complementary colours in art class something about that peering resonated with me, colours so different complementing each other seems wild...Life is a wild thing though isn't it?

What do you think of this look; would you rock it?

Peace. Love. Complementary colours

Musing My Plush Palette :: Your Mom

Went over to my friend's house recently. She is of Indian heritage so whenever i go over there i get to experience aspects of a culture i am not regularly exposed to. Midst the treasures of this experience is the getting to hear her mother use a creole that is not local,  visual stories of Indian wedding traditions and beats of chutney music notes in kitchens where the word curry means something very very specific.

Sometimes what i am introduced to isn't even new...sometimes its the same thing made of the same ingredients done a totally different way. Isn't that amazing? how the same scents that carried into my room from my mothers frying pan on a Sunday morning can be done and taste so different by someone elses mother down the street, carrying with it stories from different countries and cultures from different parts of the world?

i love it.

We had bakes (maybe I'll do a how to sometime let me know if you're interested to see how we do it here) and Tea on a veranda as the Sunset.

The next time i went back we had her mother's home made salmosas!

i love appreciating culture and embracing differences. How do you get to appreciate cultural diversity where you're from?

Peace. Love. Diversity

52 Lists :: Week 1 | List

I was reading The Jessica L Blog which at some point became one of my favorite reads, i just love her voice so to speak and found out about the 52 Lists project and thought I'd try it out, i figured it would serve as a great way to calm my mind down when school work becomes overbearing and yes i am one of those people who actually likes making lists so i suppose it makes sense i would enjoy this.

Plus it's amazing what one can learn by becoming introspective and asking self a couple of seemingly easy questions...also yeah i know i spelt feisty wrong very sorry it was too late to correct after i took the picture :p There are still a couple after thought words i'd have liked to add. like wanderlust for instance, that word touches me so...What i found so very interesting is matching my list up against those of my friends, particularly the one friend i bothered into making a list. Her list was so different from mine...It was so interesting how different the words that inscribe themselves on our hearts can be as people yet...dispite the difference in vocabulary, how we express ourselves may be so different yet we are still trying to express such similar feelings.

She is a different kind of artist than I (more of a visual and with a lovely talent for the abstract) so i do hope she actually ends up finishing her list and posting it so i can link to it and you guys can get a kick out of how different but similar friends can be and truly come to understand what i am trying to say.

Okay my list isn't particularly pretty and a little blurry i know but i took the picture at work, by just grabbing stuff outta my desk drawer. When i opened my sketchbook and saw it i realized i needed to just follow through already and stop waiting for the 'perfect set up' Bloggers I'm sure you understand right? My first go at it is a bit messy with two mistakes but hey, that's true to life isn't it?

As you can tell by my unscheduled absence, school has me mad busy..all for the greater good right?

What are some words that touch your soul?

Peace. Love. Words.

Musing :: Mind : Summers'' End

I'm pleased to find that upon reflection i did everything on my Summer To-do list except over haul my closet, that it a task of gargantuan proportions lots of determination to let go... My summer to read list however can not boast of the same attention. I got halfway through ONE book but what can i say? On vacation it is hard to read for fun when you/re an English and Lit and Education major..

I do not regret a day of summer spent lounging, laughing or learning though because i needed this, i need to just be happy, to just live, to remember that i am young and it is okay to enjoy youth even in the midst of adulthood...

I did manage to sleep till noon, honestly more than i'd like to have but i appreciate it as having happened and i needed it in the them when it did. I was sure however to not spend the entire time under covers lazing about, this free time i haven't had in nine months was not about to miss me!

I didn't make number 2 on the list but i did go to the beach at least 10 times and i honestly have not gotten sick of it yet! I thought that i eventually would but sitting on the sand, listening to the ocean, watching a caribban sunset over the caribbean sea? It doesn't seem to get old! Who knew!

It honestly took me most of the summer but i did do number 3 on my summer to-do list. Never letting things get that bad again, no matter how hectic school gets!

Didn't do number 4 but may need a whole summer for that alone with the sinus issues i've got.

Number 5 got done because i'm very sentimental and hold on to my things till i can simply find no saving way for them so it was easy to finally part with all my not-able-to-wear shoes. I now own A peer of sneakers. 3 black work shoes, 1 brown fancy peer of slippers. and 4 flip flops. Yep, that's it! i need to go shoe shopping. I have nothing for events :/ The price we pay for decluttering.

I decided to watch two South Korean Drama Series instead this year or i might have spent all summer watching them. So i watched School 2013 which i think lent itself to me becoming a better teacher and I Miss You, which turned out to be much heavier than i bargained for but good all the same.

I did do number 8 but i also wanted to give myself a chance to hear music i might not have listened to otherwise or on my own, i figured the easiest way to do this would be to ask a friend to make me a youtube playlist that way i wasn't searching my familiars but getting to know someone elses...it was  fun and i'll share some of my favorites with you soon that i discovered through her.

Lastly, as i hope you can tell i spent lots of time with friends, laying around on the beach eating chocolate, watching the sunset, having reflective philosophical conversations, playing my favorite five word game the name of which i do not know,  having my first MaiTai, going to a play, getting invited to an awesome birthday pool party and enjoying the sky and clouds and flowers before the sun came up.

As you can tell there down to the end i started to ready myself for school again as a teacher and resumed my journey as a students. For the nest 9 months i wont see my friends or the beach like i would like to but i'll be grasping at my dreans like my life depends on it.

Good luck to those among you doing the same.

Peace. Love. Learning.
