I've always wanted an instant camera. They've always seemed so amazing to me. I am amused at how much we cling to vintage now that we've invented more ways than we can count to make picture taking and picture sharing as simple and clean as butter on bread for supper.

I've always loved leafing through albums, seeing those tiny moment held in my hand via a two dimensional square. Wondering who looked at them, who held them before me and who would hold them long after I no longer could. I hold those feelings warmly and dip into them scarcely for fear that i will use them up like i do the feel of my finger in a rotary phone, dragging the farthest number all the way to the other side so I could hear the bell go dig or the anxiety of sitting still as drowning of the vinyl record lowly sped up and filled the wooden house with vibration so tender and rich any creak of the floorboards could scratch them...

Someday I will buy myself these things, along with one of these pretty little bad boys. Until then, a girl can dream.

What is now considered vintage that you wish we could go back to?

Peace. Love. Remember.

TiLT - Scrapbooking Embellishment Supplies Wshlist!

Numbers 1-7: ABeautifulMess

I feel pressed to mention that I don't actually need these things. I do however think they'd be rather fun to own as my recent interest in scrapbook grows. Embellishments have never really been my thing but one must admit, there are a lot of precious ones out there.

Peace. Love. Release.

TiLT - My Style Inspiration - Mimi.G!

I'm still discovering who i am stylewise. Isn't that always the case in so many aspects of our lives though? Learning to break out of the mold of what so many many people feel is the right to tell us how we ought to do things? I've always been a person who dispises being boxed in, i like being free to wear heels and pearls one day and an over sized tshirt, timnerlands and cargo pants the next. I see no reason to have to choose one or the other.

In that respect Mimi.G is really inspiring to me and i connect with her as it has to do with not fitting the visual mod racewise. This chick is a beautiful inpowering woman who crafts her own style with her very own hands! I love pretty much everything she wears and hope to afford some of her pices someday.

She recently did a short interview for kisforkinky.com and i really hope you enjoy it and are inspired by it as much as i was.

You can check out her blog here.

TiLT :: Top 5 Favorite Models with Albinism

No longer is the modelling industry completely void of models with albinism. Its something that my heart cant help but be glad about. It makes me so happy that these people are able to follow their dreams regardless of something as little as a different in pigmentation and short sightedness. I think that their successes in overcoming the adversity of negative opinions should be celebrated. So, since i haven't done a 'Things I Love Thursday' in a bit I've decided to make this one about my top five favourite models with albinism.

1. American Model: Ellie

Definitely my number one favourite, likely because i love her look and style.

2. Russian @kiker_chan

A believe she is Russian. Love all the airy shots she takes

3. Chinese Model Connie Chiu

I consider her a legend, she's the first model with albinism i ever learned about and still waws me with her work.

American Model Diandra Forrest

Isn't she amazing working  those full lips and long legs?

American Model Shaun Ross

Does a lot of high fashion, an area I'm not a fan of but i love his versatility and willingness to create art. Most may know him as the guy from the Katy Perry video or The Tyra Banks Show.

It makes me feel really good to see these people doing their thing. Its already so hard and takes so long to come to that glorious place of self acceptance and it's always made even more difficult when everywhere you turn no body looks like you do. This is true for so many, for the plus size girl/guy, the one with freckles, with thick frames, with braces, with super curly hair or with whatever society says in not in these days, I'm not sure, i try not to keep up, simply because i have no interest in letting anybody decide for me what i should or should not do or like.

Now when i meet students or even look in the media myself i can find representatives of the albinism community that are depicted as not just disabled but beautiful, unique, looked upon with favour and admiration. Though I've already reached a pretty darn good place of self acceptance this does do no less than help! No longer are people with albinism just the 'red eyed demons' being hunted down in Tanzania by witch doctors, or being shown as always the monsters in films about conspiracy. Now they are also models, beautiful people that hold the place on the cover of magazines.

They are normal people, children of the universe, they have a right to be here just like everyone else, like that song lyrics being blasted into my ear as i type this says. I know all these people and all these pictures have definitely helped me in a deep, resounding, fantastic, personal way and if i could say anything to any of these people it would be this: Thank you, thank you  for believing that you are beautiful, thank you, for daring to believe in yourself.

Is there anyone in the media that has helped you to dare to believe in yourself?

Peace. Love. Acceptance.

Do you know when the design team found the initial vintage dress the sleeve was dead and they had to redo it from scratch?!
Art Is EVERYWHERE!
I'm so in love with this dress i just may buy it! Well...Or it's closest likeness....

Things I Love Thursday - Kpop - My Five Fav South Korean Bands

Photobucket

My favorite Korean male Band made a milestone of sorts recently.
i am a proud supporter.(VP)
Big Bang to the WORLD!

In honor of their milestone victory at the MTV Awards today TILT topic is 'My favorite Korean Male bands' Lets get it started shall we? (Yes i broke the Christmas theme, why? Cause i dunno)

BIG BANG (forever and always NUMBER ONE)
I love their style, confidence and most of all their MUSIC
My favorite song by them is Haru Haru

Photobucket
2AM
They are a 'Ballad band' which is to say they lean more to the genre of soulful, slow music.
You will notice that most of my favorite bands are Ballad bands as i am not a huge fan of 'Beat dols' as they are called in Korea. I appreciate a good looking man but the concept of loving a band just because they look good is...a little too superficial for my blood sorry. My fav song by them is 'Can't Let You Go Even If I Die' as i think their voices are amazing! As it usually is :)

Also recently released in Japanese!

One of the reasons i like 2AM over their counter parts and label mates 2PM
Photobucket
Who combined make 'ONE DAY'

If you know a little about their history getting into show business is a brutal challenge in Korea and they fought hard to get the chance, eventually the wise J.Y.P. narrowed them down and then separated them to 'ballad idols' and 'beast idols' respectively 2AM and 2PM' the boys struggled together and are very close as 'ONE DAY' members and hyungs (brothers) I appreciate my ONE DAY boys immensely, but i lean towards 2AM's music more, i find it more meaningful. Of course that is just me ;) and if they actually SOUND good is a different and wonderful story.

Enjoy this wonderful treat of them preforming together!

Photobucket
FTIsland
I love these guys because they sound so soulful, they play their own instruments and they're so different from the usual I love their song 'Bad Woman' possible my favorite Kpop song ever.

Photobucket
SHINee
As you can see SHINee have gone with what i like to think of as the 'cute dongseng' concept (cute younger siblings) I love their music, not a big fan of their mature step into beat dols territory but i love to hear them which is what is most important to me :) They also did the theme song opening for Boys Over Flowers the Korean Drama which I've mentioned before

Photobucket
Homme
It was so hard to find a photo of them that does not look incredibly 'gay' which is part of their selling concept though from what i gather or at least and incredibly questionable i mean close bromance, which is kindda sad cause they're so good they shouldn't have to sell them like that but meh. Homme is a duo consisting of one of the main vocalists from 2AM (Changmin) and another main vocalist (Lee Hyun) from the Korean group 8ight
Photobucket
which is a trio of two guys and a gal. I LOVE Homme's music :D I do not dig their stressing on the beef cake beast dols concept but oh well lol. My favorite song by Homme is 'I Was Able To Eat Well' and is about two friends falling for the same girl and realizing it's not worth loosing friendship over i swear lol Despite how they market it -.-

I have purposefully linked to none official music videos in this post as much as possible cause i want you to really hear their voices and words and see why i love them.
Happy Thursday!
