Musing :: Mind : Pressed Down and Shaken Together

 Lunch menu
Food:boiled sweet potato green banana, Irish potato, stewed pumpkin and fried chicken in a seasoned sauce.
Drink: Grapefruit juice

I was afforded another opportunity to see one of my friends. She's been ill some time now and it has rendered her mobility limited for the time being so the chances of us going out are zero.

At long last i was able to visit and sup together with her. We caught up liked our wounds and praised our God. It was beautiful and I think we both needed it. One of the things I love about this friend is her laughter. It is SO big! Like my own.. We've seen each other dangling on what seemed like the edge of the earth for almost two decades, with the edge of the earth being a different colour of terrific every time.

I say terrific tapping into both it's old meaning and it's new. Fascinating isn't it? How a word that once meant full of terror now is acquainted with good surprises. I feel it is a testament to the way adversity shapes us. It was good to be in the company of another woman who could celebrate the verse: 'no weapon formed against me shall prosper. ' (Isaiah 54:17) Another woman who has seen you live the proof of this truth.

The sun came up on me fighting to finish a late assignment, rose to the middle of the sky with me running to her house, descended on our laughter and was gone as I ran home to make it to a class.

It was good to be gone that day, even for just a few hours it was good to exist in a space where we could remind each other that our laughter can be just as big as our problems dare to be. Also that giant cloud cross in the sky was encouraging too.

Peace. Love. Laugh Big.
