MAC Lipstick Wishlist | List

I wasn't always a lipstick person. I used to swear by gloss and gloss alone, perhaps till sometime earlier this year. Then, somehow i discovered MAC lipsticks though a female friend who is a make up artist. It was so interesting and wonderful to learn about this unfamiliar ground from someone first hand. I immediately started figuring out how i could own some of these bad boys. Bellow is a list of said shades i hope to own:

~
  • St Germain
  • Ruby Woo
  • Pink Plaid
  • Snob
  • Girl About Town
  • Morange
  • Shy Girl
  • Candy Yum Yum (MAYBE for its rather daring to me)
  • Russian Red (MAYBE for its rather daring to me)
  • Creme Cup (i forgot to add it to the image :/ )
  • Girl Next Door (Archie collection)
  • Betty Bright (Archie collection)

I shall be sure to share with you once i own any of these shades. Just gotta get them into the country first...

Which lipstick brand or shade would you like to own post?

Musing STREET Style : Complementry Colours

I've put together another street style segment this time showcase another local fashion designer. I love this little lady and happen to know her well from artistic circles we share (particularly our local writers association and spoken word poetry) She has a unique style and a passion for creating her own fashion pieces. I could take pictures of her overtime we meet! Though i think that would be pushing it and freak her out...so meanwhile, do enjoy this showcase :)

Meet: Sapphire - Fashion Designer. Poet

Outfit Details:  self made Paneled pencil skirt // self made Round edge square cut top // zebra pattern flats //zebra pattern hobo bag

Personal Style Motto: 'my personal style is quite eclectic. I believe in dressing to please myself because if i'm not happy or at least comfortable with my clothing i can't expect anyone else to be. okay so if i were to think up a personal style motto right now i would say: your clothing speaks the thoughts your tongue may never taste, dress comfortably, dress your mind, dress your inner you, always.'

--------------------

Since i discovered that orange and blue were complementary colours in art class something about that peering resonated with me, colours so different complementing each other seems wild...Life is a wild thing though isn't it?

What do you think of this look; would you rock it?

Musing My Plush Palette :: Your Mom

Went over to my friend's house recently. She is of Indian heritage so whenever i go over there i get to experience aspects of a culture i am not regularly exposed to. Midst the treasures of this experience is the getting to hear her mother use a creole that is not local,  visual stories of Indian wedding traditions and beats of chutney music notes in kitchens where the word curry means something very very specific.

Sometimes what i am introduced to isn't even new...sometimes its the same thing made of the same ingredients done a totally different way. Isn't that amazing? how the same scents that carried into my room from my mothers frying pan on a Sunday morning can be done and taste so different by someone elses mother down the street, carrying with it stories from different countries and cultures from different parts of the world?

i love it.

We had bakes (maybe I'll do a how to sometime let me know if you're interested to see how we do it here) and Tea on a veranda as the Sunset.

The next time i went back we had her mother's home made salmosas!

i love appreciating culture and embracing differences. How do you get to appreciate cultural diversity where you're from?

52 Lists :: Week 1 | List

I was reading The Jessica L Blog which at some point became one of my favorite reads, i just love her voice so to speak and found out about the 52 Lists project and thought I'd try it out, i figured it would serve as a great way to calm my mind down when school work becomes overbearing and yes i am one of those people who actually likes making lists so i suppose it makes sense i would enjoy this.

Plus it's amazing what one can learn by becoming introspective and asking self a couple of seemingly easy questions...also yeah i know i spelt feisty wrong very sorry it was too late to correct after i took the picture :p There are still a couple after thought words i'd have liked to add. like wanderlust for instance, that word touches me so...What i found so very interesting is matching my list up against those of my friends, particularly the one friend i bothered into making a list. Her list was so different from mine...It was so interesting how different the words that inscribe themselves on our hearts can be as people yet...dispite the difference in vocabulary, how we express ourselves may be so different yet we are still trying to express such similar feelings.

She is a different kind of artist than I (more of a visual and with a lovely talent for the abstract) so i do hope she actually ends up finishing her list and posting it so i can link to it and you guys can get a kick out of how different but similar friends can be and truly come to understand what i am trying to say.

Okay my list isn't particularly pretty and a little blurry i know but i took the picture at work, by just grabbing stuff outta my desk drawer. When i opened my sketchbook and saw it i realized i needed to just follow through already and stop waiting for the 'perfect set up' Bloggers I'm sure you understand right? My first go at it is a bit messy with two mistakes but hey, that's true to life isn't it?

As you can tell by my unscheduled absence, school has me mad busy..all for the greater good right?

What are some words that touch your soul?

Peace. Love. Words.
